The second week of Little League action saw many thrills and spills in both San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley.
 
 
Scotts Valley Little League
Majors Division
Giants 9, A’s 4
David Nicholson hit a two-run home run for the Giants and the A’s were led by Philip Garrison, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles.
 
Royals 7, Padres 2
The Royals took the lead when Dillon Danner and Arthur Soto both hit triples. Bryce Gundersen, Casey Collins, Henry Danner, Robert Hipwell and Patrick Sweeney all added hits. On the mound, Soto and Collins struck out eight.
Zach Snider tripled for the Padres.
 
Phillies 16, Angels 1
The Phillies scored runs in every inning, and pitchers Garrett Hormel and Brody Affolter combined to hold the Angels to four hits. Dylan Leonard doubled and had three RBIs while Evan Foy, Ramon Nunez, and Hormel each had two hits for the Phillies.
Kyle Smith had two hits and an RBI for the Angels.
 
Padres 6, A’s 1
The Padres’ Zach Snider pitched a complete game with six strikeouts. Paul Hanson had singles, while Bryce Clark doubled.
For the A’s, E.J. Bright had a single, and Nick Endres singled twice.
 
Phillies 9, Royals 0
Ryan Bariteau pitched a four-hitt complete game and hit a two-run homer to lead the Phillies to their win over the Royals. Ramon Nunez doubled and tripled for the Phillies and scored twice. Garrett Hormel and Dylan Leonard had two hits and scored twice.
Henry Danner had two hits for the Royals, and Trevor Wiechmann made a diving catch on a fly ball in right field.
 
AAA Division
Tigers 5, Rangers 3
Tigers pitchers Gabriel Aiello, Connor Schelstraete and Jaden Ulrich combined for 12 strikeouts, and Niccolo Petrini and Robbie Hall had RBIs.
For the Rangers, Josh Booth struck out seven, while Dash Finn and Stephen Arum-Billow had two singles each.
 
Orioles 14, Yankees 13
After the Yankees took a 13-11 lead, Matthew Stone drove in the winning run for the Orioles. Veronica Reynolds, Gabriel Keith, Ben Tapia and Lucas Della all had multi-hit games for the Orioles, while Jostin Barber had two hits and Jaden Muelman had a triple.
Nicolas Sutter, Abdoulaye Sow and Carson McElrone added singles for the Yankees.
 
SLV Little League
Majors Division
Nationals 8, Orioles 2
The Nationals scored five runs in the third when Jaden Swanson and Trevor Cambron picked up hits and Joseph Bowman walked to spark a rally. Swanson pitched five innings, allowing three hits.
For the Orioles, Trent walker went 2-for-2, and Gabe Michaud doubled.
 
Rangers 19, Red Sox 6
The Rangers scored 13 runs in the fifth, including hits by Bubba Gonzalez, Julian Auldridge, Shea Monowitz and Kaleb Hedstrom, Quinn Hite and a second hit from Jacob Auldridge.
For the Sox, David George doubled and Nate Alisago singled.
 
Minors Division
Diamondbacks 8, Orioles 2
Casey Crouch tripled and William Caddell singled and stole home in the first for the D-backs. Crouch and Brownlee struck out 13 Orioles.
The Orioles’ Ryan Oropeza scored on a base hit.
 
Orioles 6, Giants 5
Coleman Woolfolk singled and later stole home for the Orioles. For the Giants, Josh Putscher singled, Riley Wan Wickle singled, Brody Cusiamno singled and Jose Rosenquist singled.
