Cubs 4, Rangers 0
Cubs Cole Leonard, Gabe Spitzer and Jake Grasso each tossed two innings, and combined to allow only two hits to the Rangers — doubles by Logan Gunderson and Logan Fenn. The Cubs were led on offense by Jeremy Kain who went 2-for-2.
Cubs 4 – Rangers 2
Patrick Goodrich went 2-for-2 for the Cubs and Gabe Spitzer put together tossed two innings of shut out ball. The Rangers were led by Logan Gunderson who went 2-for-2 at the plate.
Cardinals 14, Braves 7.
Down 7-3 going into the last inning, the Cardinals scored 11 runs for the win. Rowan Zeszut had three hits and five RBIs and Dillon Cambra had two hits to lead the comeback. Ian Eisenhut picked up the win, allowing one run in the final two innings.
Majors Division
Nationals 8, Tigers 6
Tyler Costere was 3-for-4 including a single, double and home run for the Nats. Anthony Abruzzini was 3-for-4 with a triple and Arthur Soto went 2-for-3 and Evan Foy had a clutch hit.
The Tigers collected hits from Jostin Barber, Carson McElrone, Jaden Meulman with Casey Collins and Blake Engleking hitting doubles. On the mound Tyler Costere and Arthur Soto pitched for the Nats and Soto struck out six. Robbie Hipwell and Casey Collins also turned in strong performances on the mound with four and six strikeouts respectively.
Pirates 11, A’s 5
The Pirates remain undefeated as Josh Mahony had three hits, Zane Fuller had two and Bryce Gundersen, Matt Stone, Dillon Danner and Weber Stemm each had key hits.
The A’s hitter were led by Brody Affolter, Jackson Sutter, Patrick Sweeny and Ryan Harris who all hit doubles. Alex Sterbenc, Dylan Leonard and Anthony Petrini had two hits each, and Matt Wu hit a single.
Bryce Gunderson pitched all but one inning and Nick Endres closed it for the Pirates.
Nationals 10, A’s 3
Starting pitcher Evan Foy tossed three innings with four strikeouts, one walk and four hits allowed. Relief pitcher Arthur Soto pitched 3 innings. The Nats Tyler Costere doubed and walked, Anthony Abruzzini singled, Soto was 3-for-4 with a home run and Tyler Rehnberg went 2-for-2 with a single and a double.
For the A’s, starting pitched Dylan Leonard had four strikeouts, while relief pitcher Matt Wu had two hits. For the A’s Affolter singled, Jackson Sutter, Nolan Owens and Anthony Petrini all singled.
