Owls 6, Volcanoes 5
The never-say-die Owlz triumphed thanks to four singles from Lincoln Moses, two base hits from Ethan Okamura, a triple from cleanup hitter Henry Merring, and singles from Veronica Reynolds, Matthew Stone and Carson McElrone.
The Volcanoes were paced by Brendan Hull, Dominic Papagni-Martinez and Matthew Ellis, who each doubled and singled, and two singles each from Nolan Fish and Wyatt Brown.
Majors Division
Giants 6, Brewers 1
The Giants’ attack was led by two singles and a walk from Tanner Spence, two singles each from Nathan Pisciotta and Josh Andersen, a double from Ryan Myers, a single from Brett Ifland and two walks from Eric Beraut. Starting pitcher Jack Palmer added a double and single at the plate and threw one-hit baseball through five-plus innings.
Giants 12, A’s 5
Palmer, the Giants’ starter, threw three no-hit, no-run innings, and Pisciotta and Ifland threw scoreless fourth and fifth innings for the Giants in relief.
Offensively, the winners were led by a bases-clearing double from Ben Acker, a double from Ethan Emanuelson, three singles from Gregory Neiger and two each from Spence and Andersen.

Majors Division
Phillies 4, Indians 3
D’Shawn Hopkins struck out 12 batters in six innings, doubled and hit a walk-off single in the seventh inning to give his team the win. After the Indians tied the game in the sixth on an RBI groundout by Jack Gentry, Michael Mattoch doubled and scored on Hopkins’ single for the win.
Ari Solomon pitched six innings for the Indians, helped by Jonah Shabry, who had two hits and a walk, and Gentry, who drove in two.
Minors Division
Giants 8, Red Sox 6
Tommy Anderson, Cody Edgemon and Vernon Frieberg had consecutive hits in the first inning as the Giants ignited for five runs on their way to victory. However, a five-run fourth inning, including Howard Forehan’s bases-loaded single, got the Red Sox close.
Manny Smith out seven in 31/3 innings for the Giants, and Frieberg picked up the save with two innings of scoreless relief.
