Three of the five Scotts Valley Little League All-Star teams are rolling through their respective District 39 tournaments, while the 7- and 8-year-olds have already won theirs. Four San Lorenzo Valley Little league teams are vying for crowns, too, making the upcoming weekend one to remember.

Scotts Valley 7, Watsonville American 0
Mitchell Gaspar pitched five innings of one-hit ball, fanning nine batters with no walks. Jack Kastner closed the game with a 1-2-3 sixth inning. Reilly Merlo was 2-for-3 with a double, Gaspar was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Kastner went 2-for-3 and Anthony Locatelli doubled.
Scotts Valley 24, Live Oak 8
Kyle Raymond had five hits, including three doubles, and four RBIs; Mitchell Gaspar had five hits, four RBIs, a double and a home run; Daniel Shamshoian, Reilly Merlo, Jack Kastner, Nathan Pisciotta all had three hits each; and Joe Murray, Conor Santos and Jasper Stemm had two hits each.
Scotts Valley 3, Aptos 1
Mitchell Gaspar again pitched five one-hit innings, striking out 12 batters while walking one, before Kyle Raymond notched the save with a 1-2-3 sixth inning; Gaspar homered and Nathan Pisciotta made two diving catches in the sixth inning to preserve the win.
Scotts Valley 4, Santa Cruz American 3 (seven innings)
Jack Kastner went five innings, giving up one run on four hits, and Kyle Raymond pitched two innings and got the win. Mitchell Gaspar went 4-for-4 with a two-run homer, and Daniel Shamshoian knocked in the winning run in the seventh inning with a bases-loaded single to center.

Scotts Valley 11, Watsonville American 1 (four innings)
Garrett Fisher pitched three strong innings for Scotts Valley, allowing one unearned run before he was relieved in the top of the fourth by Carson Spence, who got out of the inning on six pitches. Ryan Bariteau tripled in the first run and drove in the final run with a deep outfield hit that triggered the mercy-rule win. Garrett Hormel, Trevor Stocker, Ben Lemus and Zach Snider each had a hit, a run and an RBI.
Scotts Valley 12, Capitola-Soquel 9
Carson Spence led the charge for Scotts Valley, going 4-for-4 with four runs scored and a three-run home run in the sixth inning. Ryan Bariteau went 3-for-4, scoring three times. Connor Wilson had three hits, Garrett Fisher had two and Trevor Stocker scored twice.

Scotts Valley 11, Santa Cruz National 3
Sören Burns started the game and struck out four batters in two innings, and Casey Collins and Bryce Clark pitched in relief. Shane Burns and Philip Garrison were both 3-for-3 with an RBI each, Angelo Segretto went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Kieran Ruf and Sören Burns each doubled and Dillon Danner went 2-for-2.
Scotts Valley 10, Live Oak 0
Scotts Valley pitchers Dillon Danner, Philip Garrison and Sören Burns struck out five in five innings. Burns was 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, Nick Endres had two hits and two RBIs, Kyle Smith doubled and scored twice and Bryce Gundersen and Philip Garrison went 2-for-2.
San Lorenzo Valley All-Stars
12-year-olds
Aptos 4, SLV 2 (eight innings)
SLV led the game until there were two out in the sixth, when Aptos tied the score. But Jackson Turner, who had pitched dominantly against a great Aptos lineup, got out of the jam, and the game went until the eighth inning. In the top of the eighth, Aptos homered and rallied for a second run to take the lead. For SLV, Jack Gentry homered in the third inning to give SLV a 2-1 lead that lasted until the sixth.
SLV 8, Scotts Valley 6
SLV’s Tanner Murray hit a home run to center to lead off the game. Thomas Moore doubled, Jack Gentry singled and SLV jumped out to a 4-0 lead. SLV added another run in the second, and in the third, Murray hit his second home run of the game. Moore followed with a solo shot, and SLV led 8-0. Scotts Valley answered in the fourth and fifth, including a two-run home run by Jonathan Steen and a hard double from Georgia Parsons. Gentry took the mound in the fifth and finished the game.
The team faced Watsonville American after press time Wednesday, July 6.

The 10-11-year-old all stars beat Pajaro 7-2 and then lost to Santa Cruz American 8-4. They played Scotts Valley after press time Wednesday.

The team beat Watsonville 5-1 and will play Wednesday after press time against Santa Cruz National in San Juan Bautista

The team beat Watsonville 15-0 but lost to Aptos 12-8 to finish second in their pool. They will play Scotts Valley after press time Wednesday.
