The National Weather Service announced that a large storm cell headed for the California coast could bring rains, high winds, and potential flooding to the Central Coast and Bay Area regions.
With up to 8 inches of rain expected in the coastal ranges — including the Santa Cruz Mountains — between Wednesday night and Thursday night, the NWS has issued a flash flood watch for all locations in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay regions.
The agency advised caution for those living near small creeks and streams and other low-lying areas.
Residents are recommended to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. Driving conditions may be very poor at times.
