Man struck by car while jaywalking in Felton

A 52-year-old man from Salinas was struck by a vehicle while walking on Graham Hill Road near Felton Covered Bridge Park in Felton yesterday evening.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the man, John Fahey, was walking northbound on Graham Hill Road when he tried to cross the street outside of the crosswalk and was hit by a 1997 Ford Escort driven by a 72-year-old woman.
Yesterday, Dec. 21, was the shortest day of the year and it was dark when the accident occurred at 5:47 p.m.
Fahey was airlifted to Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.
