Many open offices as elections approach

The filing period for candidates running for office in the Nov. 6 election ends next Friday, Aug. 10.
Potential candidates must file with the county elections office by 5 p.m. that day. If an incumbent does not file for re-election, the deadline extends to at 5 p.m. Aug. 15.
