A Mass and celebration of life are planned Saturday, Aug. 25, to honor longtime Boulder Creek resident Maureen Kennelly, who died near her family and friends at the age of 79.
Mrs. Kennelly was one of the founding members of the Western U.S. Region Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America and promoted traditional Irish dance and music in the Bay Area.
She will be remembered by family for her cheerful smile and clever sense of humor.
Mrs. Kennelly is survived by her son, John Kennelly, and his wife, Starr, of Boulder Creek; daughters, Patricia Kennelly of San Francisco, Maureen Kennelly of New York and Kathleen Higgs of Santa Cruz; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
A Mass, followed by a celebration of Mrs. Kennelly’s life, will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 13005 Pine St., in Boulder Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the church or to the Boulder Creek Fire Department, 13230 Highway 9, Boulder Creek, CA 95006.
