Mountain lion seen dead on Highway 17

A dead mountain lion was seen on the southbound side of Highway 17, near the Los Gatos cat statues this morning.
The California Highway Patrol said there had been multiple calls of the sighting and that Caltrans picked up the carcass today.
The were numerous spectators looking at the dead body, the CHP said.
Most likely the mountain lion was killed when hit by a vehicle, the CHP said.
