– Jaliyah Elizabeth Palacios-Viquez was born at 6 p.m. Dec. 27, 2012, to Maricela (Viquez Penaranda) and David Alonso Palacios Solano of Scotts Valley. She was delivered at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center of Santa Cruz, where she weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces.
 
– Madison Avery Tunis, daughter of Erica Heather (Lund) and Karl Schassberger Tunis of Ben Lomond, was born at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 3, 2013. She weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce when she arrived at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center of Santa Cruz.
