– Scarlett Rae Costa was born to Ashley Rae Koch and Douglas Anthony Costa of Scotts Valley at 1:10 p.m. Jan. 27, 2012, at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz. She weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces.
– Alice Victoria Fernandez is the new daughter of Carrie Ann and Ian Muir Fernandez of Boulder Creek. She weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces when she was born at 6:57 a.m. Feb. 2, 2012, at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. 
– Penelope Harper King was born at 4:38 p.m. Feb. 3, 2012, to Holly Beth and Benjamin Alexander King of Scotts Valley. Delivered at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, she weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces.
