Obstacle course to raise funds for child’s cancer fight
A CrossFit obstacle course fundraiser will be on Sunday, July 1 at CrossFit West Santa Cruz to benefit Gabriella Cosner, a 4-year-oldScottsValleyresident fighting cancer.
The event will be at350 Coral St.inSanta Cruzfrom 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Participants can run through a kid-friendly CrossFit-designed obstacle course for a $5 donation.
Stanford’s mobile blood drive van will be on site for blood donations.
All proceeds go to benefit Gabriella’s fight with cancer.

Parade to close Scotts Valley Drive
ScottsValley’s annual Fourth of July parade will take place onScotts Valley Drive, from just south ofCivic Center DrivetoEl Pueblo Road.Scotts Valley Drivewill be closed betweenErba LaneandEl Pueblo Roadfrom 2 to 5 p.m.
Parking for persons with disabled car placards will be available at the Santa Cruz County Bank parking lot.
Concert raises cash
A concert to benefit Valley Churches United Missions on June 9 raised more than $2,100 at Henfling’s inBen Lomond.
The concert, which featured the bands Who’s Holdin’, Honest Mistake and My Stupid Brother, reportedly drew a large crowd and raised $2163.50 to support theValleyChurch’s food pantry and other programs.
