Applicants sought for drug abuse commission
The Santa Cruz County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission announced that it is seeking applications for membership.
The Commission is a 10-member volunteer body appointed by the Board of Supervisors to advise the Board and the County Alcohol and Drug Program on alcohol and drug abuse.

Circus heads to Scotts Valley
The Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the American Crown Circus will be returning to Scotts Valley for two daily performances on Wednesday, May 22 and, Thursday, May 23.
According to the chamber’s press release, the circus will be held at the Skypark field at 361 Kings Village Road in Scotts Valley. Tickets are $18 for adults and two children under the age of 12 are admitted free per paying adult. Admission for additional children is $5.
New syringe service program begins
The Health Services Agency of Santa Cruz County announced that it is overseeing a new syringe exchange program beginning April 30.
According to an agency press release, syringes can be exchanged at the Santa Cruz Health Center at 1080 Emeline Street in Santa Cruz on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon, and on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
