Bus service set to be reduced
After several years of low revenue, Santa Cruz Metropolitan District bus routes in Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley could be severely curtailed.
In Scotts Valley, Bus Route 31 could have six trips deleted from its schedule. Route 32 could have two trips deleted, while four routes could be added to accommodate bell times at Scotts Valley schools.
In the San Lorenzo Valley, Metro proposes changing seven afternoon trips on Route 35 to trips on Route 35A, while deleting one trip to Santa Cruz on Route 35A.
Public hearings on the route changes will take place at 4:30 and 6 p.m. June 2 at the Scotts Valley Community Center, 370 Kings Village Road, and at 4:30 and 6 p.m. June 4 at Boulder Creek Recreation Hall, 13333 Middleton Ave., in Boulder Creek.
