‘Stuff the bus’ in Felton
A group of local Girl Scouts has invited folks to take tax-deductible donations of classroom supplies to their “Stuff the Bus” drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, in the San Lorenzo Valley High School parking lot, 7105 Highway 9, in Felton.
The aim is to collect a bus-full of school supplies to be distributed to all the San Lorenzo Valley schools for the 2010-11 school year. The Girl Scouts, in middle and high schools, are pursuing their Silver Award.

Library celebrates 25 years
Friends of Boulder Creek Library will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the opening of the library building from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 28.
The building was designed and built with significant community participation, and activities for all ages are planned during the ceremony.
County Supervisor Mark Stone, library director Teresa Landers and former library director Anne Turner will be guest speakers.
Also, children who have been selling lemonade to raise money for the libraries will present their earnings during the celebration.

Mountains art center receives donation
The Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center in Ben Lomond has received a $1,200 donation from New Leaf Market in Felton.
Volunteers from the art center set up informational tables in front of New Leaf in Felton on July 29 for a Community Day fundraiser. New Leaf donated a portion of its sales to the group that day.
The donation will be used to match other grant money to support and extend youth art education programs in the San Lorenzo Valley.
