Rotary fundraiser brings in $500
for senior, youth projects
More than $500 was raised for projects of the Rotary Club of San Lorenzo Valley during Rotary Night at Redwood Pizzeria in Felton and Scopazzi’s Restaurant in Boulder Creek, where a portion of the night’s proceeds went to Rotary.
Club president Jim Sikora said the money will help finance installation of “Drive Safely” signs, dictionaries for fourth-graders, scholarships, a student speech contest, fence and stair repairs for seniors and sponsorship of two students to go to Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp.
CERT, CPR classes on tap
The Felton Fire Protection District will conduct a Community Emergency Response Team training Aug. 5 through Sept. 12.

Fire Capt. Ray Soler leads the training at the Felton fire station, 131 Kirby St.
Soler also will teach CPR and first aid in classes from June 20 to Dec. 19.

Few protest water rate hike
The Lompico County Water District received 33 written protests to its proposed $15 increase on a two-month water bill by the protest deadline June 8, fewer than the 250 needed to reject the increase.
District directors will vote on the increase at their 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday, June 16, at the district office, 11255 Lompico Road.
The district seeks to rebuild financial reserves depleted in recent years.
