One-night murder mystery
Elf Empire Productions and Mountain Community Theater will offer a dinner-theater production of “Murder Rides the Air Waves,” an interactive murder mystery to benefit the theater group.
The show will be Feb. 4 at Park Hall, 9370 Mill St., in Ben Lomond, featuring the direction of Kathie Kratochvil and local thespians and musicians.
Tickets are $35 for dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the show at 8 p.m. A limited number of tickets for the show alone are available for $15.

Lompico discusses merger
An ad hoc committee of the Lompico County Water District board of directors has begun to form a counterproposal to San Lorenzo Valley Water District’s estimate for what it would cost for Lompico to merge with the larger district.
San Lorenzo Valley Water District outlined in July its staff’s estimate of the cost of a merger.
Board president Rick Harrington and board member Shannar Abraham are the committee’s two members. So far, they have identified a list of conditions they think need to be met before a merger should be considered.
No decision has been made whether the district will ask the people of Lompico to approve a merger, and there is no set timeline for such a decision.
Artist to be featured in Felton gallery
Paintings by Michael Robertson, associate director of Academy of Art University in San Francisco, will be shown next month at Don Quixote’s International Music Hall.
An opening reception will begin at 2 p.m. Jan. 30 at 6275 Highway 9 in Felton.
Robertson’s works use oil and acrylic paints, graphite and digital imagery.

Red Cross seeks hero award nominations
The American Red Cross Monterey Bay Area Chapter seeks nominations for its annual Hero Awards, which recognize community members whose acts have shown courage, kindness, dedication and character.
Nominations can be made in the areas of animal rescue; fire safety; Good Samaritan acts by both adults and youth; law enforcement; medical professionals; and the military.
The deadline to nominate someone is Feb. 28.
