Upcoming events at Highlands Park Senior Center announced
Ben Lomond’s Highlands Park Senior & Community Center will host several upcoming events aimed at engaging local residents aged 50 and older. These events focus on community connection, wellness and support services.
On Sunday, Sept. 21, The Center will host “Pancakes in the Park,” a family-friendly breakfast starting at 8:30am. Attendees can enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast with eggs, fruit, homemade spreads, meats and unlimited pancakes, along with juice, coffee and tea. Following breakfast, participants are encouraged to enjoy nearby park activities, including soccer, river strolls, skateboarding and tennis. Kids’ games with prizes will begin at 12:30pm. The event costs $5 for children under 7 and $12 for adults.
In addition, a free Caregivers & Family Resource Fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10am-2pm. The fair will feature local experts providing information on healthcare, dementia, hospice, finances, transportation and living arrangements. Designed to support caregivers and families of aging relatives, the event aims to connect attendees with vital resources and community support.

Felton Ace Hardware coming soon
The Scarborough Family has announced the addition of Felton Ace Hardware, located at 6123 Highway 9, in the former RiteAid building.
Ace Hardware is a locally owned, nationally known brand that will add to the vibrant community of south Felton. Customers can expect the same exceptional service and product lines found in its other stores with some additional local items to serve the Felton market.
The Thrifty Ice Cream counter will be fully stocked and ready to scoop upon its opening in early spring of 2026.

Final ‘Music at Skypark’ concert series set for Sept. 28
The community-wide outdoor “Music at Skypark” concert series in Scotts Valley concludes its 16th season on Sunday, Sept. 28.
Organized by the volunteer Kiwanis Club of Scotts Valley, the event features live performances by The Inciters from 1:30-3pm, offering a lively mix of rock, ska, reggae and New Wave, followed by headliner The Houserockers from 3:45-5:15pm, known for their horn-driven, energetic sound.
Proceeds support local public school music and arts programs, with nearly $250,000 raised over the years.
