The San Lorenzo Valley Water District, Scotts Valley Water District, and Mount Hermon Association have joined together to develop a project that will allow the Districts to share water resources in emergencies such as fires and natural disasters. The project is known as the San Lorenzo Valley Water District Regional Water Systems Emergency Interties No. 2, 3, & 4 Project.
Road closures on Highway 9 and Graham Hill Road create problems for local residents. With two of the three main routes out of the San Lorenzo Valley, residents are concerned about safety if a fire or other emergencies occurred that could happen during peak commute hours.
New to the long list of recreational opportunities for swimmers, now there is the provision available to assist disabled persons to enjoy the warm water. The 10-week program, Adaptive Water Therapy, is now available for people who can benefit from moving their bodies in the warm water.
