Oak Tree Ristorante in Felton has restored the iconic stained glass butterfly doors situated at the restaurant’s entrance.

Nearly sixty-four years after Master Sgt. Donald “Red” Moran was reported missing in action during the Korean War, the Boulder Creek native and Silver Star winner will at last be honored with a memorial at the Felton Cemetery.

On Wednesday, Nov. 5, four students from San Lorenzo Valley High School helped more than 55 homeless individuals receive identification through Homeless Connect in Watsonville.

San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley voters took to the polls on Tuesday, casting votes on a range of local issues. Among the contests were two seats on the Scotts Valley City Council, a countywide measure to levy a business tax on medicinal marijuana dispensaries, and a pair of highly contentious water district board races.

Storm-damaged sections East Zayante Road in Felton and Nelson Road in Scotts Valley are currently under construction, and are scheduled to reach completion by the end of this year, say county officials.

Boulder Creek’s KBCZ non-profit community radio station will soon begin broadcasting on the dial at 90.1 FM and will also be available to stream over the Internet.
