The office of the Santa Cruz County Treasurer and Tax Collector recently announced that, in an effort to collect $3.2 million owed in unpaid property taxes, penalties, and fees, as many as 186 parcels of land within the county could be headed to the auction block.

Educators meet to discuss early education, vocabulary gap

Representatives of the various school districts in Santa Cruz County including Scotts Valley and San Lorenzo Valley, along with representatives of child care and early childhood education, convened on New Brighton Middle School in Capitola on Tuesday, March 4 to the annual “Together for Kindergarten” forum, in order to discuss ways to further prepare children to enter kindergarten.
