With summer winding down, it’s time, once again, to clean up the mess that inevitably accumulates along the roads and waterways of the San Lorenzo Valley.

2013 marks the 40thyear in business of Erik’s DeliCafe, a chain of Bay Area soup, salad, and sandwich shops that got its start in Scotts Valley in 1973.

The San Lorenzo Valley Water District’s board of directors approved a plan to increase water rates within the district each year for the next five years. The increase would take effect in fiscal year 2014 with compounding increases in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
