Families move into Habitat homes in SV

Twenty-two months after ground broke on a shrub-covered parcel of land Oct. 1, 2011, the Chavez, Erickson, and Jeffries families are moving into their brand-new homes on Blake Lane in Scotts Valley.

TuffCubby Entertainment, a Scotts Valley-based television production company has partnered with Authentic Entertainment — the people behind “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” and “Ace of Cakes” — to bring to National Geographic Television “Family Beef,” a reality show based around the lives of western Virginia farmer “Big Tom” Buchanan and his family.

Summer camp in Ben Lomond benefits disabled

Swimming, hiking, crafts, games and visits to the resident animal farm will take place at Camp Harmon in Ben Lomond, just like at many summer camps in the San Lorenzo Valley.
