SLV organizations make valley sparkle

More than 200 volunteers braved sporadic downpours on Saturday, Sept. 21 for a day of cleaning the litter that had accumulated in the valley’s parks, roads, and waterways, as two San Lorenzo Valley organizations — SLV Core and the Valley Women’s Club — each hosted their annual river and road clean-up events.

District justifies water rate increase

San Lorenzo Valley Water District administrators explained this week that a rate increase is necessary to repair an aging water system in need of expensive repairs and to ensure the financial stability of the public agency into the future. The district also said that combining its three facilities into one campus will increase efficiency and allow for an ADA and seismically up-to-code administrative building.

Sheriff’s Felton substation moves to new location

Four years removed from leaving, the Felton substation for the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office has moved back to an office on the corner of East Zayante and Graham Hill Roads in Felton.
