Local student takes on diabetes walk

A fire at a single-family home in Felton was controlled by firefighters after about an hour on Wednesday afternoon.

With slightly more than a month before the Tuesday, Nov. 5 special election, campaigning has begun in earnest for proponents of Scotts Valley’s Measure U — a proposal for an 8-year, half-cent sales tax increase that is designed to close the city’s budget deficit.

The Friends of Scotts Valley Library this Saturday, will host its first Hops and Harvest celebration to raise money for programs and supplies at Scotts Valley Library.

Highway 9 will undergo a paving and grinding operation scheduled to last three nights beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1. It will affect drivers in Ben Lomond, Brookdale and Boulder Creek, according to California Department of Transportation.
