A public viewing and memorial service for longtime Felton resident Virginia Monohan will be Friday, March 22, in Felton and Santa Cruz. She died Sunday, March 17, from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 92.

 

Felton residents Pat and Bob Namba celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Wednesday, March 20. The couple was married March 20, 1963.

Life in the Santa Cruz Mountains, surrounded by natural beauty, can also mean you’re never sure someone or something isn’t prowling around your property at night: Is that noise a deer or a raccoon looking for a snack? The deaths of Santa Cruz Police Department officers Sgt. Loren “Butch” Baker and Detective Elizabeth Butler were remembered Thursday, March 7, as their funeral procession headed through Scotts Valley on Highway 17 toward San Jose.
