A company owned by Safeway was given exclusive rights to negotiate with Scotts Valley officials to develop the city’s oft-delayed Town Center project.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, in Felton for Mary Short, the mother of Felton woodworker Cliff Short. She was 95 when she died.

Light up the valley contest to be judged

Judging for the annual Light up the Valley decorating contest will take place Wednesday, Dec. 19, and Thursday, Dec. 20, in the San Lorenzo Valley, so entries must be submitted before those dates to be judged.
