A casual viewing and interment are planned Monday, June 25, in Santa Cruz for Scotts Valley resident Frances “Fran” Bergholz, 76, who died quietly June 15 following four years of dementia-related illness.

Richard A. Lemon April 1, 1923 — June 19, 2012

A memorial reception is planned July 7 for longtime Boulder Creek resident Richard A. Lemon, who died June 19 with his children by his side. He was 89.

Scotts Valley City Council Notes

With little fanfare, the Scotts Valley City Council voted unanimously to approve the 2012-13 city budget at its meeting Wednesday, June 20.

Isabel K. Benscoter Feb. 3, 1915 — June 17, 2012

Services will be held in Felton this Saturday, June 30, for Isabel K. Benscoter, who died at home in Scotts Valley at the age of 97. She was known as “Yaya” to her grandchildren and friends.

An Orthodox funeral service was held June 11 at Sts. Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Church in Ben Lomond for Solomon Johnson, who died of unknown causes June 4 in Oakland. He was 33. Burial was in Felton Cemetery.
