Eight months ago, Ricky Dahill was crossing a street in Folsom when a drunken driver ran a red light and nearly ended his life. The accident left Dahill, 25, with broken bones and head injuries so severe that doctors kept him in a coma for three weeks.
With many local roads in disrepair and not enough money to repair them, the Santa Cruz Regional Transportation Commission voted last month to place a Santa Cruz County-specific $10 vehicle registration fee on the November 2012 ballot.
An effort to install LED lights across the facades of the historic buildings lining Highway 9 in Boulder Creek, nicknamed “the CANpaign,” is back in full swing.
