Woman accused of embezzling from middle school

A 42-year-old Ben Lomond woman allegedly embezzled more than $9,000 from the San Lorenzo Valley Middle School Panther Club while acting as treasurer of the organization.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, Jan. 7, at Felton Bible Church for longtime valley resident Michael Jon “Mike” Downs. He died Dec. 23 in Santa Cruz at age 47.

Girl Scout’s stage to stand the test of time

San Lorenzo Valley High School’s outdoor amphitheater, on the border between the school and the Fall Creek section of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, has been restored by the efforts of Girl Scout Paisley Frost.
