Mormons take historical hike

Sporting attire better befitting the 1850s than the 21st century, 94 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints spent three days and two nights over the weekend forging ahead on the hot and dusty trail across the Santa Cruz Mountains to learn about the history of their faith.

About 800 people enjoyed the second of four free Music at Skypark concerts Sunday, July 31. Many folks danced to the rock and horn sounds of Houserockers, which returned to this concert series for the third year in a row. Ben Lomond’s Coffis Brothers opened the concert with well-received folk-rock tunes.
