Charles ‘Nick’ Nichols March 28, 1919 — July 28, 2011

Longtime Felton resident Charles “Nick” Nichols was buried in the Felton Cemetery after he died of heart failure July 28 at the age of 92, surrounded by his wife and children.

City streamlines sand hills building permits

On Aug. 3, the Scotts Valley City Council — absent Mayor Dene Bustichi — voted 4-0 to approve a plan that will allow property owners living in the city’s sand hills to obtain building permits with less red tape.
