Valley residents worried by political signs

A political action committee bent on booting President Obama from office set up shop in the San Lorenzo Valley this week, displaying booths and posters deemed offensive by some valley residents.

A private burial was conducted in Santa Cruz for Sharon Boumis, of Boulder Creek, who died in March at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. She was 67.

Fire chief celebrates 20 years in Felton

Many things have changed in Felton in the past 20 years, but on Tuesday, April 26 members of the Felton Fire Protection District celebrated one that has not: their chief, Ron Rickabaugh.

The San Lorenzo Valley Nature Academy participated in a Renaissance fair April 28 at Highlands Park in Ben Lomond. There, seventh and eighth grade students took part in activities and games relating to Renaissance times.

BMW veers off road

Scotts Valley firefighters helped a woman to safety after she crashed her BMW at Glenwood Drive by Walpole Lane. She appeared to be unharmed after going off the road on Monday, May 2.
