So much has changed in the past 100 years in Santa Cruz County — new roads paved, buildings built and demolished, trees logged and replanted, attractions come and gone — that many icons of the past in Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley are forgotten or unrecognizable to the untrained eye.

Hundreds rock out at concert series

About 800 people enjoyed the second of four free Music at Skypark concerts Sunday, July 31. Many folks danced to the rock and horn sounds of Houserockers, which returned to this concert series for the third year in a row. Ben Lomond’s Coffis Brothers opened the concert with well-received folk-rock tunes.
