Grad night fundraising nears an end
San Lorenzo Valley High School’s Grad Night committee is nearing its fundraising goal to pay for one of the school’s most important events of the year, the Safe and Sober Grad Night. The final major fundraiser will be a Wine and Chocolate Tasting from 1 to 5 p.m. April 16 at Bruno’s Barbecue, 230 Mount Hermon Road, Ste. G, in Scotts Valley.

Thursday storm rocks valley
Heavy wind and rain have knocked down trees and wires throughout Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley today. Fire, PG&E and county crews are scrambling to keep roads clear during the storm. Highway 9 in Brookdale and Boulder Creek has been blocked by fallen trees and lines during the day and officials recommend residents keep driving to a minimum during the storm.
