Local artists and creative folks are invited to take part in an unusual contest: Build the best cigarette butt receptacle for the San Lorenzo Valley.

The San Lorenzo Valley Nature Academy participated in a Renaissance fair April 28 at Highlands Park in Ben Lomond. There, seventh and eighth grade students took part in activities and games relating to Renaissance times.
