For one Ben Lomond couple, history and hospitality go hand in hand.

Scotts Valley High School is the home of the newest music production studio in town after several local music engineers spent a rainy Saturday working with students last month to set up a computer workstation loaded with some of the hottest recording and production software on the market.

Services have been conducted for Patricia Mae Fink, 76, who died March 21 after a two-year battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 2, for longtime Ben Lomond resident Amanda “Mandy” Beyette, who died March 22 after an illness. She was 64.

Residents of Nelson Road, essentially stranded since the March 21 rockslide that buried the roadway and cut off 33 homes, celebrated the completion and opening of a temporary bypass roadway 12 days later on the evening of April 2.
