More than 300 tickets issued for cell phone use Tuesday

Santa Cruz County law enforcement agencies issued 301 cell phone tickets in one day as part of a crackdown on distracted driving.

Bypass around Scotts Valley rockslide in place

Residents of Nelson Road, essentially stranded since the March 21 rockslide that buried the roadway and cut off 33 homes, celebrated the completion and opening of a temporary bypass roadway 12 days later on the evening of April 2.
