BC arsonist pleads no contest

A Boulder Creek man with a history of arson pleaded no contest Dec. 3 to felony arson charges related to a fire at the Mountain Store in Boulder Creek in August.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, Dec. 12, to honor longtime Boulder Creek resident Raymond Speltz, who died Dec. 3 in Boulder Creek. He was 85.

Bustichi named mayor for second time

After a unanimous vote of the Scotts Valley City Council last week, Vice Mayor Dene Bustichi was named to succeed Jim Reed as mayor of Scotts Valley. Councilwoman Donna Lind was unanimously selected to serve as vice mayor.
