The Scotts Valley City Council passed a budget with roughly $300,000 in cuts to the general fund last week as the city prepares for the expiration of Measure C, a quarter-cent sales tax, in 2011.
Twins often graduate from high school on the same day. Sometimes, a younger sibling will complete elementary school as an elder brother or sister finishes middle school or high school. But for two Boulder Creek sisters and their mother, this spring was a graduation bonanza, as all three joined the Class of 2010.
Scott Shults, 41, lived in a nursing home for nine years after an accident that left him with brain damage and in a wheelchair. Shults was 27 years old at the time.
