Services will be Monday, June 21, in Ben Lomond for Mark Watson, who died in Santa Cruz at the age of 55. Born in Alameda, Mr. Watson had been a resident of Santa Cruz County since 1979.
Mr. Watson attended Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Ben Lomond. Known as “Guitar Mark” throughout the San Lorenzo Valley, he loved to play his guitar and express himself through music. He both wrote and published music, and he will be remembered and missed as one of the San Lorenzo Valley’s beloved characters, his family said.
He is survived by his sister, Randi Sue Watson of Guerneville; stepmother Lucinda Watson of Orinda; and dear friends Dorothy Smith of Felton and Kathie Gerrity of Boulder Creek.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 19, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 9980 Highway 9, in Ben Lomond. A funeral service will begin at the church at 10 a.m. Monday, June 21. Burial will follow in Felton District Cemetery.
