Richard “Ernie” Poston

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Richard “Ernie” Poston died Monday, May 19, 2014. Poston was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1935. He served the public on the San Antonio police force after military service in the US Navy. He relocated to California in 1966, eventually settling in Boulder Creek.
Ernie was a fixture in the San Lorenzo Valley for 48 years. He was involved in the community, coaching Little League baseball for many years. He met his wife Pam in 1981 while coaching her son’s Pony League baseball team. They were married 33 years.
Ernie was a long-time business owner in the Santa Cruz area, making many friends and providing wonderful service to his many customers. He recently retired and was looking forward to returning to the golf course to ”get his swing back.”
He is survived by his wife Pam, sons Ed, Andy, David, and Bruce; daughters-in-law Lisa, Sherry, and Sherri; grandchildren Maggie, Grace, Brooke and Ellie; his mother Fern; brother Keith; sister Jann; brother-in-law Ronnie. He is preceded in death by his father Melvin, and nephew Jordan.
Ernie’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21, at 175 Sunnycroft Road in Ben Lomond, during an open house beginning at noon.
