Linda May Rodney Barber

A celebration of life was held last week for longtime Boulder Creek resident Linda May Rodney Barber who died following a courageous two year battle with breast cancer. She was 63.
Mrs. Barber was born in Detroit, Mich. and attended elementary and high school in Redford Township. She graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Education and earned her teaching credential.
Mrs. Barber began her California adventure in 1977, eventually settling in the San Lorenzo Valley. She started a floral business, TerraLace Flowers, in Felton, and for more than 28 years. A master at designing, Mrs. Barber worked with corporations decorating for events and holiday celebrations. Bridal flower designing was one of her specialties, and she often transformed empty rooms into a grand ballroom or a redwood grove into a magical fairyland.
Mrs. Barber loved to spend time with family and friends in the Santa Cruz and Monterey areas as well as in St. Helena, Tucson, Ariz., Michigan and Alaska.
Linda leaves behind her husband, Jeoff Meacham of Boulder Creek; father Frank Rodney of Howell, Mich.; sister Sandy Peeler and her husband Tom of Holly, Mich.; son Trent Barber and his wife Brooke and daughter Flynne of Santa Cruz; a grandson; stepdaughter Jamie and wife Cassie of Foster City; stepson Tony Koep and wife Irene Meachum and two grandsons of Newark; two nephews; a grandnephew, many friends and her dog, Mack.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy.
A Celebration of Life was held November 16 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
