Pamela Factor, 75, passed away at her Santa Cruz home on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, after a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Doug, her two daughters, Stephanie (Dan) Mayfield and Shama (Jeremy) Ball and her four grandchildren: Kyle, Alethea, Bret and Kaden, all of Santa Cruz.
A native of Gainesville, Texas, she graduated from nursing training at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, where she received her RN credentials.
She worked at Community Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyo. where she met her future husband, Doug.
After marrying in 1962, they moved to Santa Cruz where she worked as a nurse for Dr. Sedgewick in Capitola.
Pam volunteered at her daughters’ school in Scotts Valley and was later hired as a librarian at Scotts Valley Middle School.
Pam loved gardening and enjoyed motor-homing, and together with Doug, logged in over 366,000 miles traveling across the country. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
At Pam’s request, no services are to be held. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Hospice of Santa Cruz, 940 Disc Drive, Scotts Valley, CA, 95066.
