Rickey Albee Erwin

A memorial service will be held this weekend for longtime Felton resident Rickey Albee Erwin who died at Dominican Hospital last month at the age of 63.
Mr. Erwin lived in Felton since 1961 and went to work for Verutti’s Felton Liquors as a part-time stock boy during high school. In 1968 he joined the U.S. Navy and served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a radioman. He was discharged in 1972 and went back to work at Verutti’s Felton Liquors were he remained throughout his working life. He retired in 2012.
Mr. Erwin was a voracious reader capable of finishing one to two books per week. He was also an avid sports fan, and dearly loved the Giants and 49ers.
He is survived by his wife Robin Erwin of Ben Lomond; step-daughter Courtney Jones of Santa Cruz; step-son Kris Dahle of Ben Lomond; mother Barbara Hazlett of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; half-brother Lee Erwin; step-sister Jeri White, step-brother Jim Hazlett and step-sister Karen Lindberg; a cousin; a granddaughter and his dog.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles Erwin and step-father Ernie Hazlett.
A celebration of life will be held at 2p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at Felton Community Hall, 6191 Highway 9, in Felton.
