A memorial service will be held in Massachusetts this weekend for former Scotts Valley resident Selma Oesterle Stenton who died in Sterling, Mass. She was 90.
Mrs. Stenton was born in Belleville, Ill. to Henry and Ida Mae (Frei) Oesterle. She was a long time resident of Manhattan Beach and lived in Grass Valley for 20 years before moving to Scotts Valley where she lived for a decade before moving to Lancaster, Mass.
Mrs. Stenton was known as a spirited woman with a generous heart who often gave of herself to others. She enjoyed dining out, spending time with friends and loved dancing in her younger days. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her children Ken Stenton of Lancaster, Mass. and William Stenton of Manhattan Beach; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Stenton and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 25, 2014 at McNally and Watson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mass.
