Signed letters to the editor or commentaries may be brought or mailed to the newspaper office at 5215 Scotts Valley Drive, Ste. F, Scotts Valley, CA 95066 or e-mailed to [email protected]. Letters of fewer than 300 words that deal with local public issues will be given preference. Letters will be edited for length, clarity and civility. Routine thank-you letters will not be published. All letters must include the name, address and daytime phone number of the writer. Only the name and city or town of residence will be published. Commentaries are opinion pieces that are 500 to 700 words. The editor will consider all commentaries on a space-available basis.

Natural beauty, open spaces, and history are just a few reasons why we love our parks. The sense of stepping into the past or the thrill of pushing one’s limits with Mother Nature are feelings hard to describe or put a price on, but for generations it has been these feelings that have kept our parks alive.
