Scotts Valley Unified School District trustees could decide to place a parcel tax measure on the ballot next May at tonight’s school board meeting.
The district faces projected deficits of $507,000 in 2012-13 and $606,000 in 2013-14, according to figures presented to the board by Chief Business Official Karen Jelcick at a special meeting to discuss the possible parcel tax on Sept. 20.
The board has discussed the parcel tax at length for the past several months and has looked at the possibility since the beginning of the year.
Tonight’s meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Scotts Valley City Council chambers, 1 Civic Center Drive.
