SVHS Wrestling
For the second year in a row, senior Domino Parrish took home the California Interscholastic Federation Girls Wrestling State Championship title in the 116-pound weight class last weekend.
Parrish’s teammates Katherine Rossiter, Madi Volk, and Gabby Sandoval also represented the Falcons at the championships, but were eliminated in the consolation brackets.
SLVHS Wrestling
After placing third overall in the 138-pound weight class at the CCS CIF Wrestling Tournament last weekend, junior Jed Kraft, will advance to the statewide competition, which is scheduled for March 7 and 8 in Bakersfield at the Rabobank Arena.
SVHS Girls’ Basketball
After their surprise loss to Sacred Heart Cathedral last week in the opening round of CCS play in the Open Division playoffs, the Falcon girls returned to form as their Tuesday night win against Palo Alto High has the team set to meet Archbishop Mitty on Friday for the CCS Consolation title.
The deciding match is set for Friday, March 6 at Archbishop Mitty High in San Jose.
SVHS Boys’ Basketball
The No. 11-ranked Falcon boys’ season came to an end on Thursday, Feb. 26 as they were eliminated in the second round of the CCS Division IV playoffs by No. 6 Monte Vista Christian 59-46.
SLVHS Boys’ Basketball
Also competing in the CCS Division IV playoffs, the No. 8-ranked Cougar boys were eliminated at home in the second round by visiting No. 9 Carmel High by a final score of 71-53 on Thursday, Feb. 26.
SVHS Boys’ Soccer
After a 3-1 victory over the No. 6-ranked Hillsdale in the first round of the CCS Division III playoffs, the No. 11-seeded Falcon boys’ season came to an end on Saturday, Feb. 28 with a 2-1 loss to No. 3 Soledad in Watsonville in the CCS quarterfinals.
SVHS Girls’ Soccer
Entering the CCS Division III playoffs with a bye week, the No. 2-seeded Falcon girls were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Sacred Heart Cathedral with a final score of 3-0 on Saturday, Feb. 28 at St. Francis High.
