Sheriff’s deputies continue their search for a second attacker in a double stabbing at Felton Covered Bridge Park this month that left two men severely injured after a drug deal gone bad.
Sgt. Todd Liberty of the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said authorities are still on the trail of a second man involved with the Dec. 6 stabbings.
“We are still looking for the second suspect, and the case remains under active investigation,” Liberty said. “We’re still following up on leads.”
Nineteen-year-old Michael Joseph Colonna of Ben Lomond appeared in court Dec. 17 to face two counts of attempted murder, a robbery charge and allegations of weapons use and gang affiliation. He pleaded not guilty.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 21. Investigators hope to have the second suspect in custody by the hearing date.
