AAA Division
Red Sox 11 – Braves 7
Casey Collins pitched a strong game and hammered an inside the park home run to lead the Red Sox to a win in AAA league tournament action. For the Braves, 9-year-old Tyler Rhenberg hit the first home run in two years, a 3-run shot and Veronica Rhenberg went 3-for-3 in the loss.
Diamondbacks 9, Orioles 7
Diamondbacks’ pitchers Shane Burns, Nicholas Endres and Graham Smith combined for 13 strikeouts while Burns, Jarrett Bare, Josh Mahony and Nicholas Endres all went 2-for-3. Burns had a double while Endres doubled and tripled.
Orioles’ pitchers Bryce Clark and Cameron Roberson combined for eight strikeouts. Jack Matty and Tyler Irwin each went 3-for-4 at the plate while Josh Flores and Cameron Roberson each went 2-for-3 with Roberson tripling.
A’s 8, Red Sox 3
The A’s got two doubles from Philip Garrison, a double and a single from Zephyr Christensen and Tyler Costere, a double from Ethan Turner-Garnett and singles from Matthew Wu, Cameron Kufchak, Connor McEntee, Jaden Muelman, Nolan Owens and Cody Ballantine. The Red Sox had two singles each from Bryce Gunderson and Casey Collins.
Majors Division
Giants 15, Blue Jays 0
Nathan Pisciotta pitched a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts and hit two home runs, a double and a single, scored four times and drove in five runs. Ryan Bariteau hit a three-run homer and singled twice while Cody Burnett had two singles. Carson Spence and Connor Wilson also each hit a single.
Rays 4, Reds 1
Reilly Merlo had two hits and RBIs while Jake Hogan doubled and singled to lead the Rays in the victory.
Starter Merlo retired the first 10 batters he faced, fanning five, before yielding a bunt single to Anthony Locatelli. Logan Hudson whiffed all four batters he faced in relief and Kyle Raymond closed the game retiring three of the four batters he faced.
